The Role: Group Financial Controller

Salary: circa £75k including share options

Location: Sheffield

The Client: Technology company developing innovative products that addresses traditional engineering challenges.

The Position: A fantastic new opening now exists for a Group Financial Controller to work closely with the Group Financial Director and Management Team in delivering our prestigious clients future. Reporting directly to the GFD, you will be responsible in supporting the business as it embarks upon manufacturing innovative products to scale, lead on implementation of core processes and reporting and drive the finance agenda within a dynamic business with a great future ahead for all involved.

Key components of the role:

  • Develop budgeting and reporting processes and an MI pack.
  • As the business scales work with the CTO on an ERP system implementation
  • Once up and running drive improvements in systems, processes, and controls, enhancing financial reporting and planning, budgeting 
  • Lead the budgeting and planning process.
  • Provide financial leadership for the business and supply its people with accurate, timely and relevant financial information.
  • Lead year end processes
  • Lead tax strategy
  • Drive working capital improvements and cash management while the business expands.
  • Lead on grant monitoring and further applications
  • Working cohesively with all the other members of SMT

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A professionally qualified accountant with a proven track record in a finance manager role, ideally with a manufacturing background.
  • A self-motivated individual with strong analytical, negotiation, communication, presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills is sought.  You will be naturally tenacious, driven by business success.  You will have the ability to quickly analyse complex situations and be an effective problem solver, whilst operating a results-focussed, professional, and well organised approach.
  • Previous experience in a ground zero or rapidly growing company would be desirable.
