Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Coventry

Hourly Rate: £19.03 - £20.93phr

Status: Temporary to permanent

Purpose: The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of the manufacturing site to ensure production interruptions are kept to a minimum, in addition to working on the installation and commission of a new manufacturing facility.

Scope: The candidate must be able to demonstrate they are able to work and communicate effectively to all levels within the organisation, up to and including directors. The Maintenance Engineer is required to take a lead role in the evaluation of maintenance processes, developing improvements, improving efficiency and product/process assurance. Opportunity: The role is born out of continued growth and expansion for a family run business seeking to recruit outstanding, talented and gifted individuals. The position offers an immediate start for the successful candidate – training on days 0600-1800 x 4 days per week to then take a leading role on a new shift to commence 9th May 2021 – Friday, Saturday & Monday 0600-1800 – 10% premium paid!

Responsibilities:

  • Managing maintenance schedules and budgets
  • Communicates directly with operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas
  • Implements programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness
  • Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions
  • Maintains and updates operating and training for the maintenance department
  • Maintains safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimise unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Establishes and maintains a system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment
  • Prepares reports, analyses data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operation and solving maintenance related problems
  • Ensures all contractors are qualified and insured to work
  • Debriefs the production manager and team leaders daily, in addition to weekly and monthly KPI and commentaries

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance capacity in a manufacturing environment
  • Detailed knowledge of maintenance processes
  • Proven evidence of a hands on approach in previous roles
  • Experience within continuous improvement environment
  • Relevant engineering qualification
  • Exposure to a polyurethane or similar industry preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence at all levels
  • Ability to analyse and report data effectively
  • Ability to understand and deliver strategies
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Proven ability of meeting and exceeding internal and external stakeholder requirements
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change
  • Able to demonstrate ability to achieve objectives and exceed expectations
