Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Coventry

Salary: circa £35k DOE

Shift: Monday to Friday 0730-1530

The purpose of this role is to ensure that both the factory as a unit and the machinery within are kept in a suitable order to allow the day to day functions to operate without issue. The Engineer is also responsible to assist in all breakdowns and reduce the level of down time on the plant by carrying out PPM’s and responsive maintenance to stoppages.  

Our client is looking for temp cover until the role has been recruited for! Hourly pay rate: £14.42phr

Specific duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain the Health and Safety level required on the shop floor

• Communicate effectively, reporting any issues to the Ops Manager / Dep Ops Manager

• Design Maintenance Strategies, procedures and methods

• Monitor and help control maintenance costs

• Reporting any issues that may affect the smooth running of the plant

• Ensure all PPM schedules are adhered to and completed

• Maintain and Record all maintenance documents

• Forklift Truck Operation

• Work with other departments in acquiring necessary parts

• Learn relevant Standard Operating Procedures

• Maintain House Keeping

• Maintain stock levels of critical equipment

• Understand drum sizes and weights

• Maintain the shop floor standards to reduce the chances of any accidents, leaks or spillages

• Carry out PPM routines to maintain effectiveness of equipment

• Work with 3^rd parties contractors and suppliers to ensure good working relationships

• Inspect equipment and repair, maintain, or improve efficiency

• Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions

• Adhering to all safety and performance regulations

• Assisting with contractor service visits

• Working as part of the Continuous Improvement Team.

• Carry out weekly fire alarm checks
