The Role: Maintenance Engineer 

Salary: £47,811 plus outstanding benefits programme

Location: Coventry

Shift: Days Monday to Thursday 0600-1800

The Client: Outstanding family-run business, one of the fastest-growing Manufacturing businesses in Warwickshire, seeking to recruit a dynamic Maintenance Engineer who initially will be working on the installation and launch of a new line.

Purpose: The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of the manufacturing site to ensure production interruptions are kept to a minimum, in addition to working on the installation and commission of a new manufacturing facility.

Scope: The candidate must be able to demonstrate they are able to work and communicate effectively to all levels within the organisation, up to and including directors. The Maintenance Engineer is required to take a lead role in the evaluation of maintenance processes, developing improvements, improving efficiency and product/process assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing maintenance schedules and budgets
  • Communicates directly with operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas
  • Implements programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness
  • Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions
  • Drives improvements to ensure maximum uptime is achieved
  • Maintains safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimise unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Works within a system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment
  • Prepares reports, analyses data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operation and solving maintenance related problems
  • Ensures all contractors are qualified and insured to work

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance capacity in a manufacturing environment
  • Detailed knowledge of maintenance processes
  • Proven evidence of a hands on approach in previous roles
  • Experience within continuous improvement environment
  • Experience of Siemens PLC fault finding
  • ABB robot experience preferred
  • Relevant engineering qualification
  • Previous experience of machine installations and modifications
  • Exposure to a polyurethane or similar industry preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence at all levels
  • Ability to analyse and report data effectively
  • Ability to understand and deliver strategies
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Proven ability of meeting and exceeding internal and external stakeholder requirements
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change
  • Able to demonstrate ability to achieve objectives and exceed expectations
  • Applicants must have a full UK driving licence
