The Role: Operations Manager

Location: Coventry

Salary: Circa £50k + bonus.

Hours: Monday to Friday 0730 to 1630, 42.5 hours per week

We would like to hear from candidates who have specific knowledge of warehousing/logistics/production, ideally experience of working within an SME type business with specific knowledge of business growth, upscaling systems and processes etc. to consistently meet and exceed the needs of our clients expanding customer base and business operation.

The Client: Expanding family run textile business with a turnover of 7 million with a forecast of increasing to 11 million imminently, currently employing six full time staff in the warehouse and production areas, seeking to recruit an outstanding Operations Manager who will be instrumental in continuing to drive the business forward, leading by example, working with a great team of people reporting directly into the MD.

The Position:

  • Management of all functions of the warehouse, logistics and production.
  • Leadership of the warehouse and production teams including:
    • Holding staff to account on agreed KPI’s.
    • Development of people to ensure scalability of the department.
    • Coaching staff on most efficient working practice.
  • Developing and executing effective operations strategy that supports the company growth trajectory and plans including global delivery.
  • Delivering continuous improvement in terms of:
    • Efficiency
    • Cost
    • Client experience
    • Quality
  • Effective management of outsourced contractors and logistics providers, including:
    • Successful procurement to ensure we are always paying the most competitive rates.
    • Ensuring our partners provide us with the best possible service to ensure that our client experience is ahead of the market.
    • Holding our partners to account on agreed SLA’s and quality standards.
  • Responsibility for site health & safety.
  • Involvement and input into new business bids and tenders (from an Operations perspective).
