The Role:  Production/Warehouse Manager

Location: Leicester

Salary: £40-£45k DOE

Status: Permanent

Hours: 0700-1630 Monday to Friday

Your Mission: Responsible for planning and seeing all new jobs through all stages right from ‘Goods In’ through to ‘ready for installation’, including handover to Installations at the client’s high standards.  Also, in charge of overseeing the warehouse, yard and associated areas, stock control, and general warehouse management, in view of maintaining a safe and clean workspace. Additional duties include consistently helping improve related systems and processes and overseeing basic HR functions within your team of nine which will increase in headcount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise all jobs, planning them into your Production Schedule to meet the requirements of the project.
  • Liaise with Project Management and Installations teams to make sure they’re aware of all jobs and that all information required is available.
  • Create and keep up to date an accurate Production Schedule and list of tasks, communicating this to your team so that they’re always clear about what is required of them that day and week.
  • Analyse labour requirements and plan to have peaks and troughs resolved.
  • Provide practical/hands-on input and support within all relevant areas as required.
  • Ensure jobs for delivery are ready and fully prepped at least 1 working day in advance when possible.
  • Make sure that any relevant paperwork / information on products etc. pertinent to jobs is available for the installation teams.
  • Proactively manage the warehouse and yard, and ensure these are kept clean, safe and pleasant to work in.
  • Actively look for improvement and cost savings that can be made within the warehouse and production sectors.
  • Ensure that stock is well managed, including responsibility for stock checks, returned items, and goods in.
  • Have regular appraisals with your team and pass the results from these up the line to the Head of Operations and the HR department.
  • Assess your team for additional training requirements and communicate this to your manager.
