The Role: Project Engineer

Location: Swadlincote

Salary: £42,000 - £49000 DOE

Shift: Monday to Thursday 08.00am – 16.30pm. Friday 08.00am – 1.30 pm

Status: Permanent

Role Summary:

We have an outstanding opportunity to strengthen my client's Project Sales function within the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for project managing technical and commercial aspects locally or/and globally and give input to product and process throughout project timelines.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Take charge of the project’s technical requirements. Accomplish related results as needed.
  • Prepare a Technical description describing the proposed system’s main features and functions
  • Prepare and supply appropriate supporting evidence of technical compliance to customer specifications where required and available.
  • Review and negotiate technical specifications clause-by-clause (CbC).
  • Visit customers in coordination with Sales Responsible where necessary and discuss/present Dellner TCS products and technical solutions to car builders.
  • Support internal departments (e.g. Engineering, RAMS, Manuals, Service) with necessary technical information and part pricing.
  • Follow established Dellner processes and propose improvements for faster and simplified decision making.
  • Deliver product cost structure to Sales Responsible.
  • Measure and report agreed targets and KPIs regularly.
  • Build and maintain good relations with the decision-making engineers and buyers at the customer.
  • Ensure that projects are implemented so that customer requirements are met with highest profitability for the company.
  • Supervise and monitor the financial status of the project SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost).
  • Coordinate project work across departments for the optimum utilization of allocated resources, including re-planning if required by the internal requirements or customer requirements, within agreed time, resource, and financial goals.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry with relevant project management methodologies such as PMI and project management software for documentation and data analysis.
  • Knowledge in interpreting drawings and creating technical product descriptions.
  • Technical understanding.
