SMT Operator - Bedford

Position: SMT Operator

Salary: £21.5k to £22.5k DOE, Annualised Hours Premium + Bonus
Hours: 37.5 Hours - Monday to Friday 6.00am to 14.00pm
Location: Bedford
The Position:

To carry out manufacturing process steps for the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and assemble product to agreed quality levels to meet customer expectations.

Main Duties:

• Set-up and run SMT lines to specified efficiency and process quality levels.
• Ensure product meets IPC 610 to the specified class.
• Input and preparation of process control documentation
• Ensure you are familiar with the department’s output production targets.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and update databases to meet the requirements of the quality management syste
• Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
• Maintain to the highest-level workmanship and product standards, and ensure no scrap is created 

Person Specification:

• Professional manner with excellent internal customer service skills
• Good understanding of English including verbal and written communication skills
• Reliable and strives for high quality standards.
• Accurate with good manual dexterity
• Desire to learn and develop.
• Interest in electronics / manufacturing

Previous experience:

• Experience of running pick and place machines, preferably MyData, Dek, Jet printer, SPI,X-ray
• Preferable creating DEK, SPI, Jet printer programs, not essential as training will be given
• Previous experience of package creation would be beneficial.
